Dr. Maskoor Ahmad Usmani is a medical professional, social leader, and humanitarian dedicated to improving access to healthcare, education, and dignity for marginalized communities. A graduate of Aligarh Muslim University, he combines medical expertise with grassroots activism to drive meaningful social change in India and beyond.
With a strong background in medicine, policy, and leadership, Dr. Usmani brings a multidisciplinary approach to social development. His work spans healthcare delivery, public health management, community engagement, and international collaboration. Guided by the values of equality, justice, and service inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Maulana Azad, he focuses on building systems that are ethical, inclusive, and impact-driven. His leadership emphasizes transparency, strategic planning, and people-centered solutions to complex social challenges.
Dr. Usmani’s contributions to healthcare and social activism have received international recognition. He is an IVLP Fellow (United States) and a Professional Fellow of the U.S. Department of State, honors awarded to emerging leaders working for global impact. In 2020, he also made history as the youngest candidate in the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, reflecting his growing influence in public service, healthcare advocacy, and democratic participation.
“Dr. Usmani’s journey is deeply rooted in on-ground realities. His experiences working with underserved communities exposed him to the harsh inequalities in healthcare access, education, and basic human needs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he founded a Free Covid Care Centre, offering medical care and support to those who were unable to afford treatment. This experience strengthened his resolve to create sustainable, community-led solutions through Unite for Change Foundation.
He believes that true development begins when healthcare, education, and dignity reach the last person in society. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to bridging gaps between policy, compassion, and action.
